Dr. Bishop Major Foster

 

          Since April 27, 1968 Bishop Major Foster has been the pastor of the Philadelphia Pentecostal Holiness Church in Ellendale, DE. Devoted and faithful unto the Lord; at the young age of eight years old he received his calling from God to preach the Good News. At twelve years of age, he was baptized in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost at Rock Chapel Baptist Church in York, Alabama. After doing 3 years in the U.S. Army; at the age of 23, Bishop Foster moved to Havre De Grace, MD. Running from the calling that God had placed on his life; he ran into an amazing man by the name of Bishop C.H. Johnson. Shortly afterward he was baptized in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ at the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Havre De Grace, MD. There, he was ordained as a deacon and later was ordained an Elder, and soon after became Assistant Pastor of GTC.

 

          As an Evangelist, Bishop Foster ran many “Great Revivals” across this country. While at Gospel Tabernacle, he met and married his wife of 48 years, Mother Betty Foster. Together they have raised 10 beautiful children. As Pastor of the Philadelphia Pentecostal Holiness Church, on June 13, 1998, Bishop Foster received his Doctorate of Divinity from Muskegan Bible Institute in Indianapolis, IN.  Today Bishop Foster is a leader in Ellendale and the surrounding communities. He truly is a pioneer; accomplishing things that were said couldn’t be done. Without controversy Bishop Foster is an amazing Preacher, Teacher, Leader, Mentor, and Pastor.

Bishop Foster has written several books and tracts; The Truth About women Preachers, The Proper Way To Leave The Church, What Is Man, Man Hood & Woman Hood In the Body Of Christ, and Kingdom Building. Two more books, The Truth About Women Preachers Part 2 and The 10 Mysteries of the Tabernacle, will be going to press in 2009.
